How to get more energy

You’ve been laying around on the couch for what seems like forever now…. how are you going to get up when you feel completely drained?

Well, you first have to actually get off the couch before you can get more energy. It won’t just magically appear and then boom your full of it.

This may sound crazy but if you want more energy, your going to have to get up and create that energy. I know, it makes absolutely no sense until you actually do it. Then you will see what I mean.


4 Ways to Boost Your Energy Levels

1)Exercise

 Yes, it takes energy to exercise but believe it or not, exercising can give you more energy than it takes from you. However, there are workouts that can completely drain you. If you want to find a workout you love and that gives you energy, go here.

2) Eliminate Simple Carbs

Simple Carbs can drain you! They are found in pop/soda, cookies, cakes, processed foods, coffee creamer and so many more places. Most of the time when we want energy, we grab a candy bar and a pop and yes, you get energy from that but you also crash HARD afterwards.

If you eliminate simple carbs and start eating good carbs like legumes, sweet potatoes, nuts, oats, and brown rice. This will give you sustained energy without a crash.

3) Drink More Water

One of the first symptoms of dehydration is feeling tired and exhausted. Stay hydrated by drinking half of your body weight in ounces each day. For example, if you weigh 140 pounds, you would drink 70 ounces of water each day. And yes, it is doable!

4) Crank Up The Tunes

Sometimes all you need is some good music to boost your energy (this ALWAYS works for me). Put some headphones in while you’re sitting on the couch, find your favorite playlist (create one if you don’t have any) and crank it up. Before you know it, you will feel like getting up and getting shi* done!
